Colossians 3:1–4 NIV “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Similar to Paul’s teaching on baptism, here we are told to put to death the things from before we trusted Jesus. We replace those behaviors with those that are given to us by God. It doesn’t matter how bad our past was; that has been put to death.
It is important to remind ourselves daily that our past is dead and to invest in our eternity in heaven. Often we dwell on the past and ignore our future. Focus on changing that thinking today.
Prayer: Father I commit my thinking and mindsets on to you today as I focus. Help me to see things from A Christ-like perspective to see things with a value in Eternity. In Jesus name, Amen 🙏
