FAMILY MATTERS pt 1
God wants you
God Loves people because He is a God who is into relationship, not religion!
GOD WANTS YOU, NOT WHAT YOU CAN DO OR BE FOR HIM, AND HE WANTS ALL OF YOU!
(The greatest healing and wholeness comes from receiving His Love and is reinforced by receiving love from another person {the highest of these been the marriage relationship)
God doesn’t have LOVE HE is LOVE (1 Corinthians 13)
GOD LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY
John 3:16-17 NKJV “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
AGAPE, which is most often crowned as the highest form of Christian love, is the kind of love and action that shows empathy; extends the desire for good of the beloved; wants the best; extends help or demonstrates good intentions; and is intended for everyone.
I Peter 1:22-23 NKJV “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,”
When we are B.A. our lives are made pure (His blood redeems us) and we become obedient to the truth and as we yield to the Holy Spirit and God’s Word, HIS LOVE IS ACTIVATED IN OUR LIVES. (God’s Love doesn’t just change us it changes everything)
It shifts our ability and repositions us for healthy relationships, but that doesn’t mean it will happen automatically for us….!
As B.A believers we are born of “incorruptible” seed, that speaks to the depth of our identity and our ability to Love others.
As soon as we arrive in this world, our association with our parents and relatives have already been established.
Our Biblical “Worldview” is we are all related to one another & whether we like it or not, we are created for relationship.
Whenever God wants to enrich your life or lift you into a new season, He will bring the right people into your life, but unfortunately the same applies to our enemy, he tries to “counterfeit” Gods plan by bringing the wrong people into our lives:-
Jesus & Peter
Simon & Peter A
nanias & Sapphira
John Marc & Peter
Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””
So there are 3 primary and important Relationships to consider…;
- Your relationship with God.
- Your relationship with Yourself.
- Your relationship with Other People.
– Family Life
– Friendship & Companionship
– Marriage Partners
If you don’t recognise and have these in the right priority you are already at a disadvantage! Natural relationships are inevitable bonds that we have in our blood while the unnatural ones are those we create as we go through life.
Matthew 6:8-9 NKJV “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”
Our Father: (God introduces the reality of relationship & family)
Ps Bert “Family is God’s genius. When the family works it is the unlimited reflection of God.”
But no relationships are perfect, because we are not perfect.
When you think you need a partner to make you whole or complete your life, you are in essence already in trouble.
You are whole because of who you are IN CHRIST God mission is restore mankind and restore the family!
Genesis 2:18 NKJV “And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.””
Ephesians 5:22-33 NKJV
Honor (believe & respect that family (relationships) is His idea.
Hebrews 5:7-11 NKJV “who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.”
It requires a lot of things to maintain them:-
- patience
- selflessness
- love
- time & effort….& an endless supply of it.
IN the Biblical point of view, forming a relationship is parallel to receiving and giving love. However, loving is not as easy as it seems.
God wants you! He wants full custody of your heart, not just visitation rights. People often complain that they pray in Jesus’ name, and nothing happens—but considering the amount of time they spend with Him, it’s obvious they’re only “dating” Him. I didn’t get my husband’s name until I married him. Jesus wants a marriage relationship with His church so we can use His name whenever we need to do so and see His power working mightily.
Intimacy with God encourages His power to work in our lives. We cannot view intimacy as all smiles and warm, fuzzy feelings. When a relationship is intimate, one person can speak correction to the other and complete honesty can flow between the two of them. In an intimate relationship with God, we have wonderful moments, but we also have moments when He calls us to honestly face things that need to change in our lives.
Some people are like wild stallions unwilling to let a saddle be put on them so they can carry a rider. They haven’t learned that their own breakthrough to peace happens when they submit to God and obey Him promptly. They are like unbroken colts resistant to a bridle and bit in their mouths, which could be used by God to guide them to a place of security and provision. Some people are not willing to let God have the reins of their lives because they want to control their own destinies. But they will never feel the security or peace they long for until they surrender themselves completely to the Holy Spirit. He wants you; let Him have all of you.
Prayer of the Day: Father God, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I surrender myself completely to You. Take full custody of my heart and help me as I build a more personal, intimate relationship with You, amen.
