Vision Conquering Faith | Stepping into God’s Promise

Vision and Faith go hand-in-hand, guiding us towards God's plan

This past Sunday, Kurt Jackson delivered a powerful message in our Re-Imagine series while Pastor Larry and Pastor Mandy took a well deserved break. What an incredible reminder it was about the faith that conquers all obstacles and brings God’s vision for our lives into reality. Today, we look into Vision Conquering Faith—a timely word that challenges and encourages us to align our lives with God’s purpose.

Let’s start with a critical foundation: Proverbs 4:10-11 tells us, “My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths.” This scripture set the tone for Sunday’s message. It’s clear—if we want to conquer through vision, we must seek God’s wisdom and trust His ways.

Faith | The Foundation of Vision

Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Faith is not passive—it’s active and alive. It involves trusting God when the outcome isn’t visible and believing His promises when circumstances look bleak.

Kurt Jackson reminded us: Faith is foundational for conquering the trials that arise when pursuing God’s vision for our lives. He shared that faith is both a conviction and substance, a real and tangible belief in God’s Word. This faith enables us to step into the unknown, just like Abraham, who left everything familiar to follow God’s promise (Hebrews 11:8-10).

“Vision conquering faith is about trusting God’s plan, even when it’s not fully clear,” Kurt said. It’s a call to step out and rely on God’s wisdom and timing.

Trials Test and Strengthen Faith

As believers, we know trials are inevitable. But here’s the truth: Trials refine our faith, revealing its depth and authenticity. James 1:2-4 tells us, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

Kurt reminded us that trials aren’t meant to destroy our faith but to strengthen it. He shared that God never wastes our struggles. Instead, He uses them to prepare us for His greater purposes. Trials build resilience, perseverance, and trust in God’s character.

The Test of True Faith

When trials come, true faith doesn’t crumble; it perseveres. Kurt shared examples from Scripture:

  • Job said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15).
  • Nehemiah overcame opposition to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls because of his unwavering faith in God’s vision (Nehemiah 6:16).

“Your faith isn’t destroyed by trials,” Kurt encouraged. “It’s refined, and through that refining process, God’s power is revealed.”

Vision and Faith Go Hand-in-Hand

Faith without vision is aimless. Proverbs 29:18 reminds us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” But what does this mean for us? It’s simple: Without clarity about God’s purpose for our lives, we lack direction. Vision gives us focus, and faith empowers us to act on it.

Wisdom in Vision

Faith is crucial, but it must be coupled with wisdom. As Kurt shared, wisdom aligns our choices with God’s purpose. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Wisdom helps us discern God’s voice and act with clarity.

Kurt Jackson posed the challenge: Where are you getting your wisdom? Are you seeking God’s counsel or relying on worldly understanding? These questions are essential if we’re serious about living out God’s vision for our lives.

How to Develop Vision Conquering Faith

Kurt highlighted four key steps for strengthening your faith and stepping into God’s vision:

1. Joyous Attitude

Trials will come, but our response makes all the difference. James 1:2 encourages us to “consider it pure joy” because trials refine and strengthen us. Joy isn’t about denying hardship; it’s about trusting that God is working for our good.

2. Understanding Mind

Romans 8:28 reminds us, “God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him.” Trust that trials have purpose. Let this understanding guide your response.

3. Submissive Will

We must surrender to God’s plans. James 1:4 urges us to let perseverance finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

4. Believing Heart

Faith means trusting God’s character, even when circumstances challenge it. James 1:6 tells us to ask for wisdom with confidence, without doubting.

Practical Ways to Live Vision Conquering Faith

Kurt emphasized that living out vision conquering faith requires consistency and reliance on God. Here are practical steps:

  • Daily Prayer: Seek God’s guidance each day.
  • Immerse Yourself in Scripture: Strengthen your faith by meditating on God’s promises.
  • Step Out in Obedience: Trust God’s leading, even when it feels uncomfortable.
  • Surround Yourself with Godly Counsel: Build relationships with others who encourage your faith journey.

God’s Strength in Our Weakness

One of the most comforting truths Kurt shared is found in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Our trials highlight our need for God’s strength, and in our surrender, His power shines through.

A Vision Worth Pursuing

When we embrace vision conquering faith, we’re not just stepping into God’s plans for our lives—we’re becoming testimonies of His goodness. Our faith inspires others and advances God’s Kingdom.
