Two Kingdoms – Anointed for Purpose

Two Kingdoms – Anointed for Purpose

When Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you, the listeners understood what He meant. He was referring to the groom who, under His fathers supervision, was preparing a wonderful place for his bride. He was laboring to win her love. But what is the bride doing while he is preparing a place for her? She is preparing herself for him! One day, like the bride, we will hear the trumpet telling us our home is prepared and we will be called away to meet Him in the air. Well be taken to the marriage feast of the Lamb and we will become one with Him! Being completely ready to meet Him and leave Planet Earth is what Jesus was talking about when He referred to having oil in our lamp, i.e. being fully prepared to leave this world. The more we know Him intimately, the more we are one with Him, the more we want to be where He is…

Preparation  – have the end in sight

Matthew 25:1-13 AMP““Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish [thoughtless, silly, and careless], and five were wise [far-sighted, practical, and sensible]. For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delayed, they all began to nod off, and they fell asleep. But at midnight there was a shout, Look! The bridegroom [is coming]! Go out to meet him. Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order [trimmed the wicks and added oil and lit them]. But the foolish virgins said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.But the wise replied, No, otherwise there will not be enough for us and for you, too; go instead to the dealers and buy oil for yourselves. But while they were going away to buy oil, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut and locked. Later the others also came, and said, Lord, Lord, open [the door] for us.But He replied, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I do not know you [we have no relationship].Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come].”

Lamp

Oil

Lighter

Extra oil

— if the lamp were to drop and fall the oil would still burn?

Time is the leveller – what am I doing to be prepared…?

Matthew 25:4 AMPC But the wise took flasks of oil along with them [also] with their lamps.”

What does is the eye — the lamp – mean? Believers are the lamps- our souls in of the body of man. The oil is the Spirit of God in man. The wick in the oil is the connection to God in the word, which when lit provides light thru the fabric of the wick that burns a flame, producing light

What produces the light the word?

The word produces the oil thru the Spirit

Have an eye test

The eye is the channel from which innermost moral attitudes of the heart flows. In the eyes the character and moral quality of a person are reflected. The gist of this saying is: If the eye is healthy, it functions as the light of the body and indicates that the owner is sincere, generous and helpful.Matthew 6:22

Why does he identify 5 Foolish and 5 Wise ?

They were all believers, all waiting for the Groom- who we know to be Jesus the King Who would return for them.

[ I would be mortified if I was referred to as foolish]

  1. Why would a believer be referred to as foolish? Taking a lamp with you is not a bad thing…? Not providing enough is foolish.

Taking extra oil is wise. Believers, they know the word… head knowledge not heart knowledge –

How to go deeper. The word goes in one ear and out the other. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you hear

1 Corinthians 2:14 AMPC But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.”

Virgins

Biblically virgins

Signify or represents purity, innocence, and untouchedness in the spiritual context. The concept of virginity is not only linked to physical chastity but also symbolizes dedication, loyalty, and devotion to God in various biblical references.

These were all virgins and walking in the chastity of the Lord.

The Wise

1Cor 2:10 :But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him]. For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.*

The faithful or repentant are called the remnant or the virgin daughter of Israel, because virgin carries the idea of being separated and faithful to the one God and of being the only people of God. It implies a people with only one God in contrast to people with many gods.

Referring to the wise

Proverbs 2:6 AMPC “For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

**The Wise store the word in their hearts…

Psalms 119:105 “¶Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”

The Foolish

The foolish hear the word but cannot comprehend it and therefore discard it.

**But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 AMPC

The foolish asked for the other’s oil! These are those who have not calculated the cost or prepared their hearts for the journey, they are like the parable where the seed sown surrender their faith to the circumstances of life instead of finding out the word and keeping faith alive… Jesus said in revelation He is coming back to find faith Luke 18:8

Luke 18:8 NKJV I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?””

Lamp&Oil

Lamp are our hearts (we, who are the vessels) carry the word —  we are the believers

Oil refers to the Spirit of God that lights the lamp.

No one takes a lamp and places it under a bushel or bed.

Matthew 5:15-16 And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, its placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So dont hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.””

The reference to lamps is Gods Spirit, called lamps —vessels that contain oil, a common symbol of Gods Spirit, thus they represent our minds, when filled with the Holy Spirit, provide illumination for the parts to the Kingdom of God. 1Cor 2:10-16

TPT

The Spirit of God

As we know from the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), citizens of the ancient Mediterranean world also filled their lamps with oil.

  1. It not only burns as fuel in the body, but also as fuel for fire.
  2. It was also used as medicine, as the Parable of theGood Samaritan reveals. In the dry, desert regions, olive oil protected and nourished the skin and scalp.
  3. One early writer, Pliny, says it could even be used to protect the body against the cold at night.
  4. As we learn from Leviticus and Deuteronomy, God commanded oil to be used in the consecration of sacred people and things,

—in addition to its use as an ingredient in some of the offerings.

…For the people of the time, then, olive oil was almost like liquid gold.

In fact, oil sometimes functioned as a kind of currency. When properly made and stored, it will keep for years and thus hold its value. Biblically, abundant oil is a sign of prosperity (Deuteronomy 32:13; 33:24; II Kings 18:32; Job 29:6; Joel 2:19, 24),

—and running out of oil is indicative of famine and hard times (Joel 1:10; Haggai 1:11). In the Proverbs, excessive use of oil signifies wastefulness (Proverbs 21:17), while saving oil is characteristic of a wise man (Proverbs 21:20).

While we no longer attach such value to oil, we need to understand its importance to life for those in the Bible.

When we consider all the uses of oil and the value it adds to life, we can understand why it symbolizes— richness, fruitfulness, abundance, and vitality.

We can also grasp why it played such an integral part in the consecration of things like Jacob’s pillar, representing the richness, fruitfulness, and abundance of God being poured out. While the indwelling of the Holy Spirit will certainly produce abundance and fruitfulness (see Galatians 5:22-23), it is more accurate to say that oil and the Holy Spirit are often parallel, but not exclusively so. As the example of Israel shows, God frequently provides abundance without imparting His Spirit

The Spirit

Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit].

Anointing&Purpose

1 John 2:20 AMPC  But you have been anointed by [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have been given an unction from] the Holy One, and you all know [the Truth] or you know all things.”

John was to baptise Jesus who was the word made flesh—John humbled and complicit when Jesus says this is what is right for now for us both! He Baptises Jesus, when He emerged from the water. The voice says from heaven as  the Holy Spirit settles upon Him in the form of a dove… .”this is my son with whom I am well pleased.”Act 10:38

What are you anointed for?

Luke 4:18-19 AMPC The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound]. [Isa. 61:1, 2.]”

Purpose

The 7th Shedding of the Blood

Is when they crucified Jesus the nailed His feet to the cross by crossing his one foot on top of the other then piercing a nail between the two bones that connect the leg and the ankle together where the tendon is encased.

When the nail ripped thru Jesus could no longer hold his body up with his legs strength causing sll the weight to hang from his hands

Removing all use from his hands and rendering his feet useless or lame.

His blood shed absorbed our uselessness and being lame or idle or lost or bound and tied or restrained

And replaced aimless for Destiny to walk in His purpose.

Having His word as the lamp that lights our paths and footsteps.

Giving us the ground upon which our feet walk or tread. He orders our footsteps if we will remain committed to His word.

I know  that it’s hard but we are reminded by world events that those who remain in faith are the ones that upon Jesus return will be found to be the wise and let in.

Not to scare you but to encourage you in your faith and to pour out his anointing upon you. Today, through prayer and consecration:-

Prayer for purpose

Bless this oil and sanctify it for our use. Make this oil a remedy for all who are anointed with it; heal them in body, in soul, and in spirit, and deliver them from every affliction. Father in heaven, through this holy anointing grant N. comfort in his/her suffering.

Father, we pray that you would remind us that that we are all a part of building and expanding your Kingdom. We ask that you give us a fresh vision for your purpose for our lives. We ask that you open our eyes, our ears, our hearts, and our minds to your vision so that we can live out our purpose.

The four purposes of prayer are: (1) adoration, (2) thanksgiving, (3) repentance, and (4) petition. 1. Adoration. Our first and foremost duty is to acknowledge God’s supreme dominion over us, as our Creator and Father; our absolute dependence on Him, as His creatures and children; and His supreme excellence.

Gods anointing was so important that the kings in Israel could not rule without it. The Priest could not function in their offices without it and the prophets could not operate in their offices if they lack it. When a man is anointed, you can not touch or harm him. If you fight a man with anointing God will be the one to fight you back. When king Saul eventually lacked the anointing, he became an empty king on the throne. What made him king was gone already. He became timid and could no longer fight Gods battle like he did before when he had the anointing
