Two Kingdoms pt 3

TWO KINGDOMS

Where’s your Treasure?

Matthew 9:35-38 NKJV “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.””

Say: Teach, Preach & Heal!

  1. Compassion identifies the real condition of people!
  2. Compassion them address’s the actual need through the Gospel.
  3. Compassion empowers our lives as true Shepherds.

We ended our first week in:-

Matthew 13:44-46 NIV ““The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”

Parable: THE HIDDEN TREASURE

1st Expression:-

Jesus is pictured as discovering this treasure, then going to the cross and giving all that He had in order to buy the world (2Co 5:19; 1Jn 2:2).

This parable is not applied to a sinner, giving up all in order to find Christ, the greatest Treasure. Because that would violate the doctrine of grace which insists that salvation is without price (Isa 55:1; Eph 2:8-9).

2nd Expression:-

Is it’s a picture of the Believer after salvation who now “sees the “Treasure of Grace” and gives everything to pursue it!

  • This means there is never anything you give up or lay down in your life for the Kingdom (no matter what) that is wasted or insignificant!
  • Whenever you give up you go up…
  • ALWAYS Been right and having your say is so overrated and MOST TIMES IS “entitlement driven”

Luke 12:32-34 NKJV “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

  • Anything sown into the Kingdom does not rust or fade away, but rather builds rewards and Legacy for eternity, but more importantly establishes your heart in HIS KINGDOM!

Revelation 4:10-11 NIV “the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.””

His Kingdom is not a democracy it’s a dictatorship, but not as of this world He is a very generous dictator because we are His children it’s His pleasure to give us the Kingdom

God is never subject to our whim or rule, He doesn’t laud it over us, He allows us to surrender to Him, through His Love and Mercy and Justice,

NOW we can RULE Him out of our lives.

But once I receive Jesus Christ as Savior, He enters to become Lord of my life.

Once my choice is to “rule Him in,” He comes in to rule! He takes over at Master-control and allows us to exercise authority in His Kingdom rule to achieve our best blessing and highest destiny.

So we can’t just Operate how we want His Kingdom, there are “protocols” & spiritual principles that govern His Kingdom!

We are Kingdom People

Jesus shapes His disciples with spiritual readiness so they might love people in the middle of their need.

Revelation 1:5-6 NIV “and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.”

He has taught us to be confident when praying for the hurting, and to be sensitive when reaching out to those who showed a hunger for God’s love.

As Kingdom people—we understand who we are and what we as the Body of Christ, can become.

Kingdom people move into each day as ordinary people, who become supernatural because we are available to the Holy Spirit’s direction and power.

We have all received of the abundance of his grace…

Teaching us that through grace we are to teach / learn how we ought to conduct ourselves

Luke 12:15 NKJV “And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.””

YOUR Treasure is the Kingdom, it’s your Relationship to Jesus and access to ALL HE SECURED IN YOUR REDEMPTION!

So what I have or don’t have is not what validates me,

What I do or don’t do is not what gives me security, it’s who I belong to and that I’m a Son of God through Christ Jesus.

The minute you put trust in resources, or what I have to give me confidence, identity or security, they start to be a substitute for Him. (You may notice it at once but it will eat at your Faith)

Ephesians 5:3-5 NKJV “But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.”

The desperation and nervousness—the need to “have” that taunts us all—gradually will crowd God out completely.

That’s why possessiveness in any disguise must be identified, confronted, and surrendered to Him.

I Thessalonians 4:10-12 NKJV “and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.”

  1. Kingdom living is firstly about POSITION not POSSESSION!
  2. Kingdom living is secondly about your MOUTH You have to Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk….. 3. Kingdom living is Thirdly is about Obedience and Conquest

Titus 2:11-15 NKJV ““For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,” teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.”
